I think the principle is the same. As I understand it Pieter the caustic solution can be carried holds 2, 4 and 6. This vessel discharged caustic at the Alcoa Kwinana refinery then went 100 kms down the coast to pick up a load of alumina at Bunbury.

Interseting ship type: CABU carrier. does it take caustic soda in the wing tanks or are the bulk holds also used for that? If so what makes it different from a normal OBO?
